Thank you booklet

Thank you booklet from Forrest Hall Participants

At the end of my S(Es)graph/S(Es)gram residency, five participants and the Directorโ€”each a researcher from a different fieldโ€”created a ten-page booklet as a farewell gift. Their reflections, notes of gratitude, and responses to the project came as a complete surprise to me. Encountering these writings in a physical form was deeply moving.

From the very beginning, through the open call, I sensed that the participants already carried a certain vision and understanding of what the project sought to explore. Each researcher approached the process through their own disciplinary lens, yet something sharedโ€”and unplannedโ€”began to form between us. By the end of the residency, this booklet became a crystallisation of that shared space: something that emerged naturally, beyond intention, method, or academic expertise.

For a project concerned with the unconsciousโ€”its gestures, durations, and invisible motivationsโ€”this booklet feels like a perfect concluding form. These reflections were not produced as research outputs or professional statements; they came from sincerity, intuition, and generosity. They reveal how art can open a dimension of exchange that lies beyond disciplinary boundaries: a space where scientists, artists, and scholars meet not through expertise, but through the deeper human undercurrents built into our unconscious.

In this way, the booklet stands as a quiet but powerful reminder of the role art can play within an academic communityโ€”making visible the connections, resonances, and forms of understanding that cannot be planned, measured, or articulated, yet are profoundly felt.
